Mindfulness Training Meditation

This meditation is designed to train your focus, encouraging you to be mindful and aware/awake. This meditation helps us see that we are not the mind, the mind is simply another tool for us to use when we please. Master mindfulness and you will be truly alive, truly living life to it’s fullest.
If someone told you they could double the time you have to experience this planet, how much money would that be worth? We all want to live longer right. The crazy thing is we can all do this, it’s free and been available for 1000’s years. We need to learn to reduce the time we spend dreaming when we are awake, others call this thinking. Thinking takes us to our own personal world. Far detached from reality and seeing what’s going on around us and interacting in that moment.
Truly living is being present here and now. Listening, seeing beauty in almost everything, feeling and flowing with what is happening now.
How much of truly living does an average person see?
We sleep for roughly one third of our life, 8 hours per day. Even though essential for our health, there is no debate sleeping is a state of mind that results in completely missing this worldly experience. So perhaps we see two thirds of our life?.. Right?.. NO!
According to a study by psychologists Matthew A. Killingsworth and Daniel T. Gilbert of Harvard University, people spend 46.9 percent of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they’re doing, and this mind-wandering typically makes them unhappy.
Time spent in your head makes your external experience of this world very slight, on average we see a watery 53% of our life while awake. We miss so much when we are in our own personal make believe world, trying to predict the future, or relive the past… Most of the time pointlessly, just getting stressed… thoughts create stress and usually make us unhappy.
So my calculation is:
24 hours minus 8 hours sleep = 16 hours
16 hours minus 47% (over thinking) = 8.5 hours per day
An average person truly lives about one third of their life.
